Distribution and Manufacturing

Fells needed a system geared up for the complexities of the wine and drinks market and found that the Distribution and Manufacturing module within De Facto matched their requirements.

De Facto ERP has a standard structure for Excise Duty handling which can be quickly configured.

In addition, the powerful features have dramatically simplified the task of maintaining Fells’ price lists. Previously utilising custom price lists for specific customers, Fells now utilises price banding to dramatic effect. Furthermore, with a number of bonded customers, Fells are able to automatically recalculate prices for them, using formulae to manage the conversion.

De Facto’s eCRM application has dramatically increased the accessibility of customer data, including aspects such as customer contact details, specific customer pricing and sales reports. Meanwhile, the system also provides complete visibility of Fells' diary events, allowing the planning and management of their reps' activity from anywhere. Built specifically for the iPad (whilst also compatible on browsers and other devices), Fells' reps are able to access any data required, whether out on the road or face to face with a customer at their premises.

Wanting to expand their online presence, Fells neeeded a sales portal where trade customers could purchase wines and drinks at any time.
 
Our job was to create a website to suit the precise needs of the trade customer. Our design and development team worked together closely to forge a professionally designed, feature rich website, emulating the design of their existing website for complete consistency.  
 
Developed using a custom Trade Order Template, the order systrem allows clients to place orders and access their entire account information via a secure login system. They are able to view their entire order history, track the delivery status of current orders, and print account statements for essential self-service management.
 
Sales are encouraged with repeat order functionality for streamlined order processing. Integrated with their De Facto ERP system, managing product content is simple, allowing for an assured real-time trading environment.

Supplying many well-known, popular brands of wine and drinks products from high profile wine producers, Fells experience high demand for product images and other product media.

The Brand Asset Management solution (their 'Media Gallery') allows Fells to display all of their product media online, which press, media and customers are able to access whenever they need.

Users can quickly drill down to the desired product images using the search facility, can view several thumbnails for each product and can save large, high quality images suitable for magazines and any other marketing materials at the click of a button.

Distribution and Manufacturing

A significant part of Richard Dawes’ business is offering wine ‘en primeur’, which involves the purchasing and sale of wine before it has been produced and/or bottled. De Facto’s Distribution and Manufacturing module handles this with ease, enabling Richard Dawes to control en primeur processes effectively.

De Facto ERP allows for the tracking of customer owned stock post invoicing. This means that, when an en primeur transaction is put through and completed, the system will still retain and hold the information until the product is finally delivered, potentially years down the line - giving Richard Dawes complete visibility of where the product is at any time up until delivery. 
 

Financials

Richard Dawes have benefited from the system’s outstanding accounting facilities, giving them a much better view of the financial information at the heart of their processes.

Information is available much more widely, exactly as it is required and without the need for Richard Dawes to employ any dedicated accounts staff.

Constantly striving to develop and expand their business, Richard Dawes sought greater online exposure for their E-Commerce website. Having a presence in social media but with no fresh content updates on their website, they needed a solution to blend the two. Based on competitor research, a company blog was deemed the right way to go.
 
We incorporated a design coherent to their existing website, with images as a key focus in order to increase the visual appeal of posts. Richard Dawes are able to use the blog as a product promotion platform as well as somewhere to simply share their fine wine knowledge.
 
The blog allows Richard Dawes to add regular, informative content which generates interest from both existing and prospective customers. Including commenting functionality, their blog entices engagement in order to create a community around their business, helping to position them as experts in the wine industry.
