Distribution and Manufacturing

As a leading stockholder of plastic products including a range of materials from U-PVC to hygienic wall and ceiling cladding, Oadby Plastics use transport heavily as part of their operations and have a fleet of vehicles to manage the distribution of products.

De Facto ERP’s Transport module provides a comprehensive range of powerful facilities to improve the efficiencies of the transport function. Fully integrated with the Distribution and Manufacturing module’s features, transport requests can be automatically or manually generated from sales orders for effective, timely planning of Oadby’s transport loads.

Oadby have really benefited from the transport planning features. They are able to plan loads in various units and using weight links from sales orders, they can compare the total weight of the load with the set capacity of the vehicle. Drops can then be specified to the driver, with drop sequences generated as necessary.

eCRM

Before implementing eCRM, Oadby’s disparate CRM data was a hindrance to the effectiveness of their sales teams, with the sales reps previously having to access their data from folders and spreadsheets. Oadby needed a solution which would allow their sales reps to have access to all of their customer relationship data while on the move.

De Facto’s web-based CRM application was ideal in that it gave Oadby complete consolidation of their CRM information supplemented by embedded Business Intelligence within the eCRM application, made highly accessible by the fact that it could be retrieved and managed from anywhere (including via their iPads).

Since the implementation of our eCRM app, Oadby have seen a dramatic improvement in their data integrity and the benefits of having all of their CRM data in one place.

Production

Production is at the heart of Oadby’s business and so choosing the right system to handle their manufacturing operations was essential. Oadby supply a range of conveyor components, including the Rex line of steel and plastic chains, belts and sprockets, MCC chains, belts, curves and conveyor components, and Marbett supporting and levelling elements, bearings, chain guides, frame supports and other components.

The Manufacturing module’s powerful features means Oadby can maximise use of stock within the semi-finished plastics range and still maintain an efficient next day delivery service, underlying their high level of customer service.

Oadby have experienced huge benefits from the module’s handling of Multi Site Planning. The company operate their business across three sites and production is assessed across these sites from the same Bill of Materials whilst handling diverse aspects where the sites may have varying production capacities.

E-Commerce

The Oadby Plastics website has been designed with usability in mind

Oadby Plastics approached De Facto with an existing website, utilised to display product information including technical specification sheets, safety sheets and pricing, available to download as PDFs. Whilst serving well as an online platform to display their product information, Oadby wanted to enhance the ease of finding their products and provide customers with the ability to purchase from them online.

We worked closely with Oadby to define a number of project goals and objectives for their new website: build a successful E-Commerce business, enhance user interactivity, offer detailed product information and, ultimately, build Oadby’s online brand.

The website incorporates a clear, easy-to-use navigation to make the user experience as straightforward as possible. We focused on making the site capable of hosting their sizable product database without compromising the load speed or performance, maximising visual elements with product images central to the product category and detail pages, to attract customer attention and make it easier for them to see what they’re purchasing.

The search and dual navigation menu structure enable users to drill-down to desired products with ease, whilst the news feature keeps customers up-to-date with the latest industry and company news, which, as well as enhancing SEO, allows Oadby to include regular, fresh content.
