Receiving Stock

Step One

In this scenario the user would raise a Purchase Order, then bring the Stock in on an Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) which has been assigned to an iWMS task.

Insert an ASN from the Purchase Order Expediting records and from Commands select 'Issue to iWMS'. Select the task type (in this case a task configured as 'Receive and Drop') and click 'Issue to WMS'.

Step Two

This creates a new iWMS Task header but one without details (as these may alter depending upon the shipment that arrives). A warehouse user can then select the task on their Handheld device or depending how the user is configured the task may be automatically allocated to the correctly profiled user.

Step Three

The 'Start' tab takes you to the following window:

Step Four

Enter by scanning the details and/or manual entry of the details of the Stock that is unloaded and then select the 'Confirm' tab.

Step Five

The 'Unload' tab will process the task, moving the product and quantity into the specified warehouse and location and adding the details to the task record. The user is then returned to the first window to continue 'unloading' the stock. When finished the user selects 'Complete'. The user may then go back to the ASN and process as normal.

Put Away Stock

Step One

In this scenarioTthe stock has already been unloaded and checked into the loading bay (or whichever area is used for receiving stock and in system terms this which can be a 'temporary warehouse'). It now requires putting away into its correct storage area.

Using the Management Console the Warehouse Manager can create a task which will instruct the relevant Warehouse Operator what to do next.

... or use the 'Put Away' function for the system to 'suggest' available locations for the stock.

Step Two

In the Handheld Processing window:

The 'Unload' tab will process the task, moving the product to the correct location (either the location suggested by the system or a different valid location) and in the above case return the user to the previous window. There they may continue with putting away the other items in the task.

Picking and Packing Stock

Step One

In this scenario a Sales Order is requested to be picked from the required locations and the stock then packed into boxes and then stacked onto a pallet and moved to the loading bay (ready for despatch).

From 'Sales Order > Picking' select the required Picking type (in this case a New WMS Picking) and select the Action, which is in fact the task type, (in this case a task configured as Pick and Pack') as illustrated below:

Step Two

Choosing 'Ok' will generate a new task which may be viewed and 'Managed' if required within the Management Console, as in the previous example.

To process, go to 'WMS > Handheld Processes' and select the task.

Note: Packaging numbers in iWMS and Sales Order packing must be unique. In many cases the pack number will be input by scanning an already unique number. However, in instances where this is not required it is possible to auto generate sequential new pack numbers.

To enable this auto-generation of new pack numbers you must flag all required non-stock packaging products tracking as 'Auto Number' or 'Consignment Number'. Whenever packing details are entered in iWMS or Sales Order Packing and one of these products is selected, the Packing Number field will automatically be populated with the next number in the sequence. This number may be over written with another unique number if required.

Step Three

Clicking the 'Process' tab or tabbing through the window will process each task and return the user to the first window to continue the process until the task is complete (during this overall process individual parts of the task may be ‘skipped’ and the user may return to this item later or the whole task may be ‘parked’ and the user may return to this task later).

Step Four

Once the products have been picked and packed into the required 'boxes' the user may now select to pack the boxes onto a pallet.

Go to Select Task and select 'My Load':

Note: In a situation where there are multiple packs in 'My Load', if you are going Pack into or onto another Pack then unless the required packs are specifically selected (double click and a green tick is displayed) ALL of the items within 'My Load' will be packed.

Step Five

Select the 'Pack' tab to pack these items into/onto another package :

In this example the user will repeat the process until all 'boxes' are packed onto the pallet. The process can be continued to add other products to the pallet load or to shrink wrap the pallet for delivery.

Step Six - Viewing Pack Contents

In the following example, using a Pick and Pack type task:
- 10 bottles of San Miguel are packed into a case - Pack No. B500
- 20 bottles of San Jose are packed into a case - Pack No. B501
- 20 bottles of San Pedro are packed into a case - Pack No. B502

Using a 'Pack in Pack' task, the 3 cases are then packed onto a pallet - Pack No. PAL1000
