Integrated
Warehouse Management System - iWMS Enhancements
Integrated
Warehouse Management System (iWMS)
iWMS is a new separate module
in de Facto S5 v5.2 designed to enable the setting up
and operation of a large variety of tasks regarding the
movement of stock. Tasks which are created either manually
or automatically from an ERP transaction such as Sales
Order Picking, may then be prioritised, assigned equipment
and a user to carry it out. The warehouse staff can receive
their tasks and action them using a wireless hand held
device. Each stage of the stock movement updates the
system Stock module.
WMS
Packaging Constraints
Packaging Constraints is a function that defines which products down to Units
of Measure level, may be packed into which particular packaging item. For example,
product single Units of Measure items may be packed into small boxes, small
boxes may be packed into larger cartons and these large cartons and products
in case quantity UOM's may be packed onto pallets.
Another
use of Packaging Constraints could be to define packaging
types such as insulated frozen food containers, padded envelopes
for postage or polystyrene lined cartons for TV's. Product
UOM's could then be flagged accordingly. For example, only
Ice Cream can be packed into frozen food containers, and
while a pocket TV could be packed into a padded envelope
for despatch, a 32" wide screen version can only go
into a polystyrene lined carton.
Stock
Control - Logistics Enhancements
Serial
Number Validation
This is a new option in Stock Control Parameters to 'Force Unique Serial
Numbers' to prevent previously used serial numbers being used
again for a serial tracked product.
In
any transaction the entered serial number must be unique for the product
code (different products can have the same serial number). Any entered
serial number is validated against existing current and exhausted
physical records. The system displays an appropriate message if a
serial number currently exists or has been used before.
Exceptions
to this are for Stock Return to Customer, and for Return
from Supplier transactions where a serial number may be used again
to allow the same product sent out to be returned to stock.
Sales
Order Processing - Logistics Enhancements On
Hold Warning displayed in Sales Order and Sales Ledger
Customer Records
If a customer is set on Credit Hold from either the Sales Ledger
customer record or from Sales Order Credit control, the 'On Hold' warning icon
displayed on the Sales Ledger customer record will now also be displayed
on the Customers window within Sales Orders.
Sales
Order Process Status and Editing
The current Sales Orders process status function has been improved to prevent Sales Orders from being
edited except by authorised users. An order with an edit hold
may still be processed unless the process status is also flagged
as 'Prevent Processing'.
Product
Secondary Code in Sales Order Packing Window
An extra
field has been added to the Sales Order Packing window to display the product
record secondary code.

Booking Enhancements
A new option in Works Order parameters, 'Pro-rata Outstanding labour', enables
labour to be booked over and above the input detail quantity. When using quick
process the new option allocates the extra cost to the input and allows the
Works Order to be completed. If there are multiple output items the additional
cost is allocated pro-rata.
Administration
Module Enhancements
Utility
to Reset the Telephone Numbers File
This utility integrates the TAPI interface with contact numbers for customers,
suppliers, contacts etc. This is done automatically when the data is manually
entered but not if it is imported. Running this utility after importing the
data resets concatenated codes so that numbers can be dialled from within de
Facto.

Enhancements

Drop Down Lists
Changes have been made to address formats.
1.

to use the associated lookup.
