	Formed as a family company in 1983, J C Dudley specialise in the supply of fruit derivatives and ingredients. They utilise high quality agencies to supply raw materials to the food and drinks industry throughout the UK and Europe. They import from such countries as South Africa, Italy, Spain, Israel, Costa Rica, Honduras, France, Australia, Scandinavia, South America and Benelux. They moved into their current premises in Chesham, Buckinghamshire in 1992. Their core trader business centers on buying and selling Juices, Pulps and Concentrates, and J C Dudley also act as a Purchasing Agent. In recent years, their Frozen Foods product lines have rapidly grown in scale and importance.

“ Needed - a Forward Looking ERP System to meet Exacting Requirements”

As a well established and fast growing supplier of fruit derivatives and ingredients for the food and drinks industry, J C Dudley were looking to update their core business systems to a modern and forward looking solution. They were running Sovereign (Sage 100) DOS-based accounting ledgers, bespoke stock control and invoicing systems, as well as a fair measure of manual processes. J C Dudley looked to source a single Integrated system which would give them efficient and accurate Stock Control, flexible Order Processing facilities, and be capable of handling their rapidly changing business requirements. After examining a number of competitive offerings, J C Dudley found that de Facto S5 proved to be just such a system, and one which met all their exacting requirements. Back to Back Orders and Contracts

J C Dudley make heavy use of de Facto S5's powerful Back to Back Orders facilities in their trading operations. When J C Dudley generate a Sales Contract, S5 enables them to back to back this with an appropriate Purchase Contract. Call Offs from the sales order are generated, and appropriate adjustments to quantities automatically take place. Call Offs can also be scheduled, for example for required quantities per month. In de Facto S5, the whole process is extremely efficient, and enables J C Dudley to know exactly what their commitments are. Such information allows for effective planning and the efficient usage of resources. The replacement of previously manual processes with such automation has proved especially valuable to them, with time savings and improvements in accuracy and timeliness of information.

Accurately Costing Shipments via Landed Costs

J C Dudley use a very full Landed Costs structure within de Facto S5, thus enabling the accurate establishment of the Actual Costs of goods. Using S5, they record all the associated costs of a shipment when importing their pulps and concentrates, which will in this case include such things as the charges for temperature controlled transportation and storage. S5's flexible landed costs facilities enable J C Dudley to track an unlimited number of additional cost elements, as well as the key elements of actual cost of the goods, transportation and insurance, and taxes and government fees on the goods.

Frozen Fruit and Vegetables Business and Efficient Stock Control

In recent years, the Individual Quick Frozen (IQF) side of their business has expanded rapidly, resulting in a new business model for J C Dudley. All their stock is held in public third party warehouses. From these four warehouses J C Dudley supply their customers, who are primarily manufacturers.

Critical for a supplier is knowing how much stock you have and where that stock is held, processes which de Facto S5 manages with ease. S5 enables them to plan their buying through forecasting demand, whilst remaining fully aware of any storage availability constraints.
