The
de Facto S5 Administration module provides a comprehensive
foundation of facilities available to all of the de Facto
S5 modules.
The
Administration module is the control centre for all of the
parameters that control every aspect of each de Facto module;
these include data entry options, workflow control and database
design.
In
addition, a number of key facilities are provided to make
the administration of large database systems easier. These
include the ability to easily interrogate all aspects of
the database, and to quickly perform secure data updates
and imports.

Bulk
Update and Data Scripting
de Facto S5 incorporates a powerful bulk update and data scripting
language which can be used to carry out any mass update on
the database either using simple calculations or using the
powerful data scripting language. The scripting language is
available for users who have purchased the document and database
modifier module. The data that is required for update is selected
using Vista-based queries, thus providing a comprehensive easy-to-use
data selection tool within the function.

de Facto S5's Database Utilities provide administration control
over all aspects of the underlying SQL database.

Integrity
de Facto S5’s SQL Server2000 basis provides robust data
handling with commit and rollback facilities. Thus, in the
event of a data corruption occurring as a result of a hardware
platform
failure, uncompleted
transactions can easily and safely be rolled back. Or in the
event of data being restored, log files can be used to
bring
the recovered database back up to date.
Process
Log
The de Facto S5 Process Log provides monitoring facilities
over all types of transaction processing. It further allows
you to review the process, and inspect the financial postings
implications generated by every transaction.
User
Defined Database
Existing features have been extended to allow unrelated tables to be defined,
and also to include the ability to use Vistas as lookups between standard or
user defined tables.
Batch
Code Changes
A new utility will allow you to change a series of codes throughout the database,
either individually or on a batch basis. This feature will make changes of
customers, suppliers or product codes a trivial and frustration free process.
Utility
to Reset the Telephone Numbers File
This utility integrates the TAPI interface with contact numbers for customers, suppliers, contacts etc. This is done automatically when the data is manually entered but not if it is imported. Running this utility after importing the data resets concatenated codes so that numbers can be dialled from within de Facto.
Full Additional Tables Window Design Capabilities
The Document Modifier application now (from v5.0) allows users to further modify the windows used to maintain customised data tables.
